A little bit of sparkle never hurt anyone. At Craft City we are obsessed with all things glitter, we’ve got glitter all over the place and its when we’re curious we ask the real questions, what makes glitter sparkle? Glitter is nothing without it’s sparkle so we dive in deep to find the answer.
Glitter is made up of super tiny pieces of various matter, usually plastics and some metals like aluminum. These materials are then layered and painted with metallic and holographic colors that reflect light. Once assembled, they are cut up into teeny tiny pieces to make up the glitter powder.
So glitter sparkles because the shiny paper reflects and reacts to the light that shines on the glitter. The more you know!
